HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Extended Day Program

The Extended Day Program (Before/After School) is designed to meet the needs of those parents who are in need of childcare before and after the regular school hours. We provide a safe and familiar environment with adequate adult supervision, including certified teachers and teacher assistants. Aside from the school's Extended Day Program, we offer students the opportunity to participate in several paid and no cost activities throughout the year. These programs occur immediately following school dismissal.

The Extended Day Program is in session on school days between 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. On some half days, the Extended Day Program is in session from 11:30 - 5:30 p.m. All students who attend Mater Dolorosa School are eligible to participate in the program, which is held in the school cafeteria. Each child needs to be registered by means of a Parent Contract.  Children may participate as needed, and "walk-ins" are always welcome.  We ask, however, that a parent call the office (or send a note) so that we can expect a student in the Program on that day.  Breakfast is provided free to all students as part of a city-wide grant.

ACTIVITIES

During the After School Program, students will be able to do a variety of activities:  homework, reading, games, etc.. There will also be time for a snack (children are encouraged to bring in their own snack). Weather permitting, the students may go outside to enjoy our playground.

COSTS

The Extended Care Program is a self-funded, non-profit program.  More information about the Extended Care Program may be obtained by calling the school office.  For the 2023-2024 school year, the cost for the Before School Program is $2.50.

The cost for the After School Program is $5.00 for the first hour and $2.50 per half-hour or any part of the half-hour (1/2) after that.  In order to meet the expense of paying an After School Program employee to remain after 5:30 p.m. for any student(s) not picked up, it will be necessary to charge an additional fee of $10.00 along with an additional 1/2 hour charge.

Please review the Extended Program Information and Protocols and Extended Care Contract.  A signed contract must be in place for your child to attend the program.

The phone number for the Extended Care Program is 413-532-2831, X104.

BILLING

Invoices will be prepared on a monthly basis and payment will be withdrawn through FACTS.

Please note that all charges must be paid in full.  A child will not be able to participate in the Extended Care Program if charges are more than thirty (30) days in arrears for this school year.
