Registration/Tuition

Registration for the 2017-2018 school year is currently underway. Please contact the School office for a registration packet and to schedule a tour of the school.  Students entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1.

The School Finance Committee is dedicated to a faculty salary structure that would help to keep quality teachers and maintain the excellent educational experience offered at Mater Dolorosa School. The tuition 2017-2018 tuition rates are shown below.  The schedule below reflects active parishioners who support their parishes and donate throughout the year.  Check with your parish to verify your financial donation responsibility.

*Our Lady of the Cross parishioners receive $275 per child for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th child.

Tuitions are managed by FACTS Management Company. Parents have the option of paying the entire tuition in full by August 15, 2017 to the school, or having the tuition paid electronically each month for an annual fee of $45.00.  For the 2017-2018, families may choose the tuition payment schedule based upon 10 monthly payments beginning in August or 12 monthly payments beginning in July.  If choosing monthly payments, please register with FACTS at https://online.factsmgt.com/signup/.

On January 1 (not before) one may begin the process to apply for financial aid for the 2016-2017 school year.  A financial aid form must be completed online at FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment (www.factstuitionaid.com). 

  • Step 1: Click on Applicant Sign In
  • Step 2: New users select Create an Account; or returning users enter their existing Username and  Password. 

Be sure to send to FACTS your 1040 Income Tax form for 2017 and your W-2 statement for 2016, and the FACTS required fee.  The process is not complete until all paper work is submitted and the fee paid.  Once you have completed the application, please do not make any changes before contacting the Catholic Schools Financial Aid office.

For Catholic Students Enrolled in a Catholic School in This Diocese a Financial Aid Form must be completed annually when applying for financial aid. 

Diocesan Requirements – School Tuition Aid (Grades K-12) 

  • Must be an active member of a Catholic Parish in the Diocese of Springfield (that is, attends Mass and financially supports the parish).Must demonstrate financial need within the Diocesan guidelines
  • Must complete a new application form each year
  • The financial aid is given apart from other assistance program available to children of teachers in our Diocesan Schools
  • Schools may offer their own financial aid assistance programs
  • Tuition Aid is not available for Pre-K students

Completed applications will be processed beginning March 15, continuing on the 15th of each month (as long as funds are available).  The process involves the financial aid office consulting the pastor with regards to membership and financial support.  After pastor consultation, acceptance/denial letters are sent to families.   Student names are sent to the schools with the amount of financial aid awarded.  The “normal” amount of aid given to a high school student can be as high as $1,000; while an elementary student may receive as much as $500

Service Requirement

Parents/Guardians are required to volunteer 10 hours of service per family at Mater Dolorosa School or Our Lady of the Cross Church. If a family chooses not to complete service hours, a $200 donation or $20 per hour donation to the school will be assessed at year's end. Areas in need of volunteers are:

  • PTO & School Functions (PTO meeting attendance does not qualify as volunteer hours)
  • CYO (Coaching and Game Day Help)
  • School Classroom Volunteer
  • School Office Volunteer
  • After School Extra-Curricular Activities
  • Facilities Improvements (i.e. painting, landscaping, licensed electrician, etc.)
  • Marketing Committee
  • Fall Festival
  • Father/Daughter Dance
  • **Chaperoning Field Trips DOES NOT qualify as service hours. ***
