Registration/Tuition
We are now accepting registrations for the 2022-2023 school year. Please contact the school office for a registration packet and to schedule a tour of our school. Students entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1.
The School Finance Committee is dedicated to a faculty salary structure that would help to keep quality teachers and maintain the excellent educational experience offered at Mater Dolorosa School.
2022-2023 K-8 AND PRESCHOOL TUITION RATES AND INFORMATION
2022-2023 TUITION RATES AND FEES
- Preschool ages 2.9-4 offers 2, 3, 4 or 5 days options for options for attendance. Preschool 3 and Preschool 4 and Pre-kindergarten classrooms offer 3, 4 or 5 day options.
- The three tuition payment plans to choose from are; Payment in full by August 19, 2022, twelve monthly payments (June-July) or ten monthly payments (August – May) through the FACTS TUITION Payment Plan. Payment in the office on a monthly basis will not be accepted.
- Once COVID restrictions are lifted, in addition to the tuition, all families will continue to be required to provide 10 service hours per year or the monetary equivalent of $25.00 per service hour will be assessed at the end of the school year.

Volunteer Service Hours:
Each family is requires to provide 10 volunteer service hours per year or the monetary equivalent of $25.00 per services hour will be assessed at the end of the school year.
TUITION PROCEDURES
Tuition may be paid in full by August 19 or be paid in tuition payment plans of either 10 months or 12 months managed by FACTS.
PARISHIONER SPONSORED TUITION RATES
Our Lady of the Cross Parish
In order to be eligible to receive sponsorship for the 2022-2023 school year, the following
requirements needed to be met during the 2021-2022 school year:
- Registered members of the parish
- Attend Mass regularly in the parish as a family
- Contribute at least $300.00 in the offertory collection
- Provide 5 hours of volunteer service to the parish (preferably fundraising events)
If you would like to receive sponsorship for the 2023-2024 school year, the above requirements
will need to be met during this coming year. (Requirements will be adjusted during COVID
restrictions).
Other Parishes
The requirements to receive parish sponsorship as well as the monetary amount vary for each
parish. Please check your own parish as soon as possible to determine if you are eligible.
DIOCESAN FINANCIAL AID
The financial aid portal on FACTS is now open for Diocesan Financial Aid for the 2022-2023
school year. We strongly encourage families to apply as soon as possible as funds are limited
and on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please do not wait to apply. The deadline is May 31 st , or
when funds are depleted, whichever comes first. Awards are up to $1,000 and will be applied to
your FACTS tuition account once we are notified of the award. We are very grateful for the Our
Lady of Perpetual Help Fund that makes this aid possible for the students of Holyoke.
Here is some other important information:
- To apply online, log on to www.online.factsmgt.com/aid.
- Returning users, enter your username and password. New users, click Register.
- Be sure to send FACTS your 1040 Income Tax Form for 2021 and your W-2 statement(s) for 2021. Please note: If you choose the “I do not file” field, you will be required to submit documentation of income.
- Currently, there is a $45.00 fee to apply for financial aid. Your application is not complete until all documentation is received, and the fee is paid. Please note: FACTS can take up to four weeks to process your application.
- Once you have completed the application, please do not make any changes before contacting the Diocesan Financial Aid Office.
- Completed FACTS applications will be processed by the Diocesan Financial Aid Office in rounds occurring in April, May and June 2022. Once FACTS has verified your application, the Diocesan Financial Aid Office will review each application to determine eligibility; acceptance/denial letters or emails are then sent to the families.
MATER DOLOROSA SCHOOL FINANCIAL AID
We realize that some families experience financial hardships, which may make it difficult to
afford a Catholic education. Our commitment is that we do everything we can to keep tuition
affordable and provide means so that parents can get the assistance they need. We do our best to
work with parents who may be struggling to send their child/ren to Mater Dolorosa School. In
addition to the financial aid that is offered by the Diocese of Springfield, there are funds
available to Mater Dolorosa School families who are in need of assistance. If you are struggling
with the cost of tuition, please contact the school principal as soon as possible.

Financial Aid Application Requirements and Process
A financial aid form must be completed online at FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment (www.factstuitionaid.com).
- Step 1: Click on Applicant Sign In
- Step 2: New users select Create an Account; or returning users enter their existing Username and Password.
Diocesan Requirements – School Tuition Aid (Grades K-12)
- Must be an active member of a Catholic Parish in the Diocese of Springfield (that is, attends Mass and financially supports the parish).Must demonstrate financial need within the Diocesan guidelines
- Must complete a new application form each year
- The financial aid is given apart from other assistance program available to children of teachers in our Diocesan Schools
- Schools may offer their own financial aid assistance programs
- Tuition Aid is not available for Pre-K students
Completed applications will be processed beginning March 15, continuing on the 15th of each month (as long as funds are available). The process involves the financial aid office consulting the pastor with regards to membership and financial support. After pastor consultation, acceptance/denial letters are sent to families. Student names are sent to the schools with the amount of financial aid awarded. The “normal” amount of aid given to a high school student can be as high as $1,000; while an elementary student may receive as much as $1,000.
Service Requirement
Parents/Guardians are required to volunteer 10 hours of service per family at Mater Dolorosa School or Our Lady of the Cross Church. If a family chooses not to complete service hours, a $250 donation or $25 per hour donation to the school will be assessed at year's end. Areas in need of volunteers are:
- PTO & School Functions (PTO meeting attendance does not qualify as volunteer hours)
- CYO (Coaching and Game Day Help)
- School Classroom Volunteer
- School Office Volunteer
- After School Extra-Curricular Activities
- Facilities Improvements (i.e. painting, landscaping, licensed electrician, etc.)
- Marketing Committee
- Fall Festival
- Father/Daughter Dance
- **Chaperoning Field Trips DOES NOT qualify as service hours. ***
